Dingerville vs the Mets
posted in 2009 ST |Tigers 7, Mets 2
In a nutshell
The Tigers brought their big boy bats, as someone might say, and teed off. Some pitchers saw their second spring training game of the year. By the way, as a boilerplate, spring stats meaning nothing.
Winners
- Miguel Cabrera – 2-for-4. Home run. 2 runs scored.
- Brandon Inge — Home run. The new batting stance is receiving some credit.
- Jon Kibler – A former Michigan State pitcher earns the win. Of course he gave up four walks…
- Curtis Granderson — 3 walks. He’s also concentrating on defense more this year, and he was already good at defense. So that’s that tell you?
- Kyle Bloom — A second smooth appearance for the Rule 5 pick.
- Brandon Lyon — Also an easy inning.
Losers
- Nothing really stood out. Inge made his second throwing error of the spring, however.
Other
- Armando Galarraga and Zach Miner have contracts.
- Jeff Larish has a pain in the neck and is day-to-day.
- Bilfer immediately thought of last year and Fernando Rodney when he heard about Jeremy Bonderman’s injury status.
