It’s about time!

posted in 2008 season |

Interesting to note, Edgar Renteria and Gary Sheffield both sat. That’s the move I think most Tigers fans — this one included — wanted to see. I’m glad it worked out well

Tigers 8
White Sox 3

Recap:

  • Now that it doesn’t matter all that much — unless you’re a firm believer in 4.6% meaning the Tigers have a real shot at the playoffs — they looked pretty good against the White Sox on Thursday.
  • Zach Miner gave up one earned run in six innings. He got the first eight batters out.
  • Fernando Rodney  — with some help from Ryan Raburn’s awesome diving catch — escaped the 8th with the save still intact and pitched a relatively harmless ninth inning.
  • Miguel Cabrera went 3-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBIs. But he does great nearly every game of course.
  • Carlos Guillen and Curtis Granderson each had two hits — Grandy had a homer; Guillen had a triple.

Analysis:

  • Too little, too late? But at least it gave fans something to enjoy after six consective losses.

At least we are learning that Zach Miner is capable of a starting role on this team.

I think Leyland should send out that lineup until they lose a game with it. Although, I’m guessing Sheff and Edgar are both back tonight.

I do not want to get my hopes up anymore so unless they do something amazing I’m actually rooting for the angels to win this year. LA vs. Cubbies

Sorry but I think we just dont have it this year. Hopefully a new coach next year. Willie Randolph anybody?

No way I’m rooting for the Angels. Not even close. Not even possible.

    But Cubbies, count me in.
