Tigers swap Thomas and Joyce

posted in 2008 season, roster moves |

After striking out four times Tuesday, Matt Joyce will be heading back to Toledo to work on his swing while Clete Thomas returns to Detroit. To be honest, they’re pretty close to being the same guy anyway. Thomas is faster, and I liked his defense a bit more. He’s a bit more of a stole base threat. Joyce had more power when he hit the ball. Both are left-handed hitters and play in the outfield. Both provided sparks to a struggling Tigers team. Hopefully Thomas has another spark.

Yuck. I have a real fear that the Tigers’ poor play is physically hurting Kurt.

I was busy at the U.P. track finals yesterday, Flying J. Never fear, posting shall resume tonight!
