As the Virginia Tech tragedy unfolded yesterday, those who frequent the Motown Sports forum were worried about one of our own, a Va Tech student who went by the name Estrepe1 on the MoTown forum and BrianB as a commenter on many websites. We learned late last night the worst news: that he was one of the fallen victims.

Life, the online world and sports intersected cruelly at that point. As Bilfer and Lee pointed out today, it was impossible to follow the Tigers interactively online without meeting Brian sooner or later. Though I did not know him as well as others, it was still like a punch to the gut to realize someone you enjoyed and debated the Tigers with was cruelly taken like that.

It’s a sad day.
