Clinch table added to sidebar

posted in Site News |

While there is some fear of a lone Tigers blog being able to jinx things — darn you, baseball! — there is also the need to put information where folks can easily find it. So I decided to move the clinch table to the sidebar to easily follow.

It’s even more confusing than *I* thought!! I had been taking away 1 from Chicago for their losses, and 1 from Chicago for Detroit wins, and my numbers were still off when I re-calculated in my head. Or I was on cough syrup. In any case, the numbers work now. As you can see since Saturday, the Tigers were unable to separate themselves from the Twins, but they did from Chicago. So the Twins are in every Division clinch scenerio while the White Sox are in just one.

The Tigers can nearly eliminate the White Sox by Wednesday. Will they? Probably not. Playing in Chicago gives me nightmares, and the White Sox must now enter desperation mode. But it’s possible, and you can tell by looking at the numbers and remaining schedules, a wild card is quite likely at this point.

Crap, I didn’t just jinx things again, I hope. I’m getting really paranoid lately.
