Mario Impemba blogs

posted in Random |

I did not realize Tigers FSN Detroit announcer Mario Impemba kept a blog. (Hat tip: Detroit Tigers Weblog)

A sample of a recent post by Impemba about Curtis Granderson:

Granderson was a pretty good bunter in college, perfecting the drag bunt for base hits. However, when he got to pro ball, he was such a good hitter that he didn’t want to give away at bats by bunting and he got away from the bunt. So, while he works at making the bunt a part of his offensive package, we are reminded that Curtis is not yet a finished product at the big league level. That in itself is an exciting prospect.

Another Tigers blog I recently learned about is Detroit Tigers Tales. There’s some nice statsistical analysis going on.

In fact, the story of the past two weeks has been starting pitching. In the last twelve games, the Tiger starters have combined to pitch 82 1/3 innings for a 2.08 ERA while allowing only 52 hits, 25 walks and 5 home runs.
